Whats in a word?

27 07 2010

Equality and Diversity is not usually the most popular training course that people are asked to attend but when Gibber joined forces with Equal & Diverse to deliver an interactive training day for Gateshead Children’s Trust the results were quite different…

“Many thanks to the team for giving me the opportunity to attend the training this morning. I have to say it was a fantastic experience - certainly the best equality and diversity training I've been on and I would thoroughly recommend it.”
Children’s Centre area manager – Learning and Children Gateshead.

With the new Single Equality Act 2010 coming into force this year it is important that everyone understands there roles and responsibilities in protecting individuals from unfair treatment and promoting a fair and more equal society. Our new half day training session “what’s in a word” explores what people think equality & diversity means identifying heir main questions and concerns and provides an overview of what the law requires including a brief introduction to the main elements of the Equality Act 2010.

By combining traditional training methods and live interactive drama Gibber are able to bring equality issues to life in a real work setting and challenge the participants to find ways of dealing with them. This way of working leads to a better understanding of what Equality and Diversity in the work place actually means on a day to day basis, why we need the legislation and the consequences of discrimination, harassment or victimisation on the individual and the organisation.

Gibber provide the participants with an informative, enjoyable and memorable introduction to Equality & Diversity promoting equality as being about common sense and respect.
